Earth Hour

Ok well last night was the offical "Eart Hour" around the world at 8pm people around the globe turned off thier lights, computers and such in an effort to save electricity. Well last night I mostly participated in this for one hour. I say mostly because I put Zilla to bed right before 8pm and I did leave on his cd player and a night light - but that was an improvement from the lamp thats usually on so not too bad. I opened my door to let in the street light and lit some candles to read a book. I actually enjoyed the queit time and it was rather relaxing. I did turn the tv on when it was over but it was either that or go to bed at 9pm and if I did that I'd be up at 4am or something so I vegged out for a while before bedtime. Well I'm glad that I helped a little to reduce the electricity used in my city even if it was only for an hour. Go me!!!

Blah Yard Sale

Ok so in our town apparently the newspaper holds a yard sale each year in their parking lot. It's like $30 to rent a space to sell in (which turns out is only the size of a parking space - can we say rip off?) and you have to pay $1 to get into the thing to buy stuff. Well I hurried down there hoping for some good finds and wow it was packed. When we got there the guy told us there was "plenty of parking behind the building" well by that he meant there was a one lane little sidewalk that we could drive on to park in the grass behind the building. Oh did I mention that it had NO outlet so you'd have to turn yourself around and drive the same way people were coming in to leave - nice planning huh? So I park and walk up - well I didn't know that you had to pay to get in because that wasn't advirtised -the paper was raking in some serious cash on this deal!

Well I'm walking around and I have to say there was a lot of stuff there and if I was interested in filling my house up with crap I'd have been in Heaven! I, however, wasn't really looking for knick knacky type things so I ended up only coming home with one thing, a older style sit n spin I stole for 50cents! If I had a little girl I also would have been in good shape as there was tons of girl stuff there. It wasn't a bad experience even though there was some people who forgot it was a yard sale - like this lady who had some kid clothes for sale. I picked up a pair of khaki's that had a pen stain on them (i thought I *might* be able to get it out) and she wanted a dollar for them! To me thats crazy and I promptly put them down. There were also people there who were selling (full price) or promoting their businesses - um people I get it but this is a YARD SALE. Oh well for this town I guess I shouldn't have expected any different.

We were SO close!!!

Well everyone we ALMOST made it a whole day without the tv being turned on. If you knew Zilla you would understand what a big deal that is. He is a tv toddler thats for sure. He didn't even give me too much grief about it today - I was suprised.

This morning we were rushing out the door because Zilla actually slept in til 7am and I wanted to go to a big yard sale (more about that later). So no tv this morning which is fine because on the weekends they mess with the Noggin and Nick schedules. When we got home we played around before naptime attempt #1. Well after hearing him yell & talk and eventually totally unplugging the moniter I went and got him to eat. After lunch we played and went down for naptime attempt #2 - this time it worked and we both took a nap.

In an attempt to keep the tv off I was going to go for a nice walk. I invited my friend and her gaggle of kids but they were still napping. So we got ready and left but didn't get far before I noticed that it looked like it wouldn't be long before it began to pour so we turned around. We played in the yard when said friend showed up with her gaggle plus some. Daisy the dog totally enjoyed having kids to run around with and then we came in because of the sand gnats. Well Zilla had played with his toys by now so at 5:30pm I caved and turned Diego on for him. Well we didn't do too bad though. Go us!!!!!!

Tuesday Workout

Okay today my friends peer pressured me into driving to the YMCA to workout with them. So I went and paid my $5 guest fee, dropped zilla off at the on site daycare and worked my booty off! Geesh I'm gonna be hurting in the morning for sure! It didn't help that I did a pilates DVD at home before I left - don't ask what I was thinking because I don't know either. On a great note my friends did AWESOME and worked their booties off too - YEAH for them!!!! We kicked butt and had a good time doing it too. I may have to join them again sometime. I don't plan on making it a habit because it's a little further than I want to drive and I am a "member" of a gym that I can go to for free and it's around the corner from my house but the YMCA could be an alternative sometimes.

I do have to say that I am glad I went - it will certainly help me get a good nights sleep well with my heating pad it will anyway...lol.

Zilla's idea of cleaning up!

Yesterday Zilla took a stack of coupons I had and threw them all over the floor. Well I'm lazy and didn't pick them right away cause that was high on my to-do list. So anyway I noticed this morning that they had been picked up - well I didn't do it so wyatt must have - sweet! Well fast forward to this afternoon when I had to change a nasty poop diaper. What did I find in my wipes container you might ask? Well I found about a dozen coupons that had been stuffed in there and then the lid had been closed. I'm glad he's at least trying to clean up after himself..lol.

Easter & my b-day

Well I am finally starting up my blog. I've been meaning to get this done but well I'm lazy but my friends have been giving me crap to start one already so here I am. I guess I'll start out with this past week in review.

Well this week was jam packed with fun stuff like my Florida trip, the Easter Party, my 26th Birthday and Easter. My trip to Florida wasn't nearly as bad as I was thinking it would be. Normally its quite stressful because traveling with a 1 1/2 year old and a dog who doesn't like road trips doesn't really get my heart racing if you kwim. I had a good time visiting with my family and my in-laws and came home with a car jam packed full of stuff for my munchkin. He did have some serious fun playing on my cousins big boy bike - hes now obsessed with any bike he sees! The day after we got back we had the Easter party where Zilla found the love of the egg hunt!! He was SOOOO excited once he figured out what to do. It didn't last long cause the 4 year olds really can grab some eggs (this will be the story of the week) but he did get several and was darn proud of what he got!

My 26th birthday was spent without hubby this year so I didn't really get wined or dined but thats okay I guess - I'll make him pay next year LOL. We went to the egg hunt in the morning since my b-day fell the day before Easter this year. I have to say that these people really didn't have this thing planned out very well. They had the kids 0-4 years old in the same area all hunting for the same eggs and there darn sure wasn't enough eggs for all the kids there. We had to line up along a fence and sit there just looking at all those wonderful plastic eggs just calling the kids names for what felt like forever before they let the hounds um I mean kids loose. Finally when they did Zilla raced over to a playground toy that held 5 precious eggs and so lovingly placed them in the bag i brought then he managed to get 1 more egg before it was all over. So the 3-4 minute hunt was all over and my son walked away with his 6 prize eggs. To bad he had zero clue that those 4 year olds already snatched them all up in about 30 seconds flat cause he kept looking for more - poor kid he was all excited. Oh well I guess next year he'll learn to be quicker if he wants more. I do have to say on a VERY good note that my friends 9 year old had noticed a kid in his egg hunt group who had fell and dropped his eggs (the other vulture kids took them all) and when he saw the kid crying cause he had no egg he gave the kid some eggs out of his own basket! Can we say BRAVO to his parents who obviously did a wonderful job raising such a caring kid!! I'm not biased or anything even though I love the kid like my own.

Easter 2008 was rather uneventful because well I left my stinking camera down in Florida. SO I decided to wait and "do" the easter basket on Monday when I'd be getting my camera back in the mail. Zilla is too young to notice that I mixed the days up so we are gonna roll with it for now. He will be super excited when he sees what Mommy got him though - he will be in Diego Heaven! Oh when Zilla woke up this morning he decided that he HAD to have his shoes on with no socks - he looked so cute running around in his jammies and shoes. We did go to a friends house for Easter dinner and it was YUMMY!!! Wyatt ate 2 rolls, broccoli and some black forest cheesecake. He's on a food strike and has become very picky but I guess at least the broccoli is a good thing. Oh well I know he won't be starving anytime soon so I'm cool with it.

Okay I guess thats it for now I'm sure I'll remember more but that will have to wait until another time!
