Out with the Old

My laptop has officially went to laptop Heaven or more than likely Hell for what it's put me through. Anyway it has died and guess what DZ said I can get a new one!!!! That's my good news well that and the fact that it was merciful enough to let me get my pictures off of it before it went to the computer hospice house. The bad news is that it died before I could put all the pics on photobucket so my Christmas pictures are on the external hard drive but won't be on photobucket until a little bit later. I might be able to get them up tonight after cleaning and before bed (on an air mattress!!) but I'm making no promises considering that tonight will be Zilla's first night on the toddler bed. There will be nothing but him and the bed in his room so we'll see how it goes - I'm expecting lots and lots of screaming but who knows he may surprise us. I'll tell you all about it tomorrow! Ta Ta I'm off to search online for a good deal on a laptop!

Merry Christmas To All!!

We had a wonderful Christmas in the Zilla household. It was nice and quiet. We celebrated Jesus's Birth with just the four (including the DogZilla) of us this year. Normally we venture over to our Very Best Friend's house but he was deployed and her and the kids went to visit family so we just hung out for our last Christmas in the great state of Georgia.

Zilla got up early - I SWEAR that kid has an alarm clock in his room - and the whole unwrapping thing was pretty much done by 7:30am LOL. He LOVED pretty much everything he got and seeing that it was almost all Thomas related that was no surprise. He did come out with a few favorites though and they included: His VERY ANNOYING Thomas toothbrush (I'm saving all loud singing things for well never I'm not buying them anymore), his new take along Thomas track set and his Thomas the train ornament. The toothbrush sounded like it would be great that was until he decided that he was going to play it NONSTOP for over an hour!!! That's right I listened to the theme to Thomas the whole morning until finally he forgot about it - I can't promise that the toothbrush will survive the move. The ornament (i think i might have blogged about it before) is still currently being clutched in his tiny hand as he's sleeping LOL. He seems to like the take along track which is good because that's the only track that won't be packed up come Monday! He seemed to like his books and stuff too but he mainly stuck with what he loved in fact the toothbrush was in his stocking and we had to practically beg him to open anything after that! He got some things from our friends and my Brother and SIL as well but it's late so I'm gonna chat about them tomorrow as well as add pictures then too ok? Sounds good to me nighty night

Kids Grow Up Too Fast

Today we all had a good laugh when I was able to actually put on my friends nine year old's shoes! They fit pretty good and even looked good on me - did I mention that they are boys shoes..lol. I am luckily taller than him, at least for now, but he's catching up on me pretty quick!

Got my Heart Checked today

Yep I had the pleasure of having the fun old "lets see if mom's heart is working" check today - 3 separate times. We'll start with the biggie.
Check #1: This morning after DaddyZilla left to do some final things at work I was attempting to get things done in the living room when I noticed the sheer silence in my house - not a good sign ever - so I went to investigate. I went to my room and into my bathroom since zilla likes to play in there. Well when I got in there I didn't see Zilla however what I did see scared the living crap out of me. I saw smears of blood on: the floor, the sick, the toilet, the bathroom plunger, the shower door and the tiles around my shower door!!! So as I'm trying not to freak out I walk back into my room to look for him since he was making zero noise and then saw more blood on my bed sheets and a towel then I finally found Zilla standing in DZ's closet. I picked him up and got it cleaned off and bandaged then went to go look for what could have cut him. There are a couple previously broken tiles around the shower door so I thought that was it until I saw DZ's razor laying on the floor. Sure enough Zilla had gotten it off the sink and cut his finger - I'm just glad that it wasn't too bad cause it certainly could have been a heck of a lot worse. We will be finding a very high spot for the razors - i swear the kid can not stay away from things that do not belong to him!
Check #2: Zilla was playing in the spare bed room when I heard DZ tell him to get out and he came running up to me. Well what do I see but my son with something red on his upper lip as he's running away from me and back to the office. I RAN in there all the while yelling "what happened" -see above as to why that would totally concern me- only to find out that it was from a red sharpie marker that he found. Well I can tell you that red sharpie marker on your kids face looks like BLOOD!!! not good we didn't like that at all.
Check #3: DZ decided to go up to the mall and we grabbed some Chick Fil A (you know since we won't be even near one after we move - i needed my CFA fix) so we sat at a table. As we are sitting there eating Zilla decided that he was going to try and lean over to put something in the stroller. Well that doesn't sound like a big deal except that the stroller was somewhat behind him and it rolled away when he put his hand on it causing him to fall out of the chair. It made me and the table of women behind us all gasp.

I swear I REALLY didn't need all those tests people I could have told you my heart was good to go. Hopefully I can go a while without having to deal with that again cause I can tell you that blood, things that look like blood and your kid falling head first toward a tile floor are NOT fun. So no more tests ok zilla?

Not a Goodbye but a See you later

Today a piece of our hearts is being Deployed and he will be sorely missed. Don't worry though you'll be in our prayers until your home again!

More fun from my Weekend

As we were waiting very NOT patiently (since Zilla woke me up at 3am) this past Sat for the stinking Realtors to open up so we could look at houses we were driving around and we came across the craziest thing I've seen in awhile. In downtown Enterprise sits this little gem:
Photobucket
Yes you ARE seeing a working fountain in the middle of an intersection. Now here in Georgia we have some traffic circles (gosh I hate those) with things in the middle - we also have 'squares' BUT this my friends was NOT one of those. The intersection in question was just a regular intersection except that it had a fountain in it. Like it fell off the back of a truck on the road and they just left it there..lol. Small town weirdness I guess LMAO.

Dothan is home to the Peanut Festival and I have to say they are darn proud of peanuts around them there parts. I mean this is a HUGE deal there - so much so that they have life size (our size not theirs lol) replicas of peanuts all over the town. Here is the "Shopping Nut" in the middle of their Mall:

During our stay over the weekend we had the pleasure of experiencing the Army Lodging on post. The room was nice sized and contained a kitchenette type thing complete with plates and whatnot and two beds. They even had a playground, which Zilla totally got to enjoy, a decent breakfast and it was quite a bit cheaper than staying at a regular hotel. One would think that we would have enjoyed ourselves and had a lovely stay right? NO This lodging had some of the worst mattresses (I'm still not sure thats what they were) I have ever slept on in my life! I'm not even kidding that the floor would have felt the same. Lets put it this way, the last night we slept on the sleeper sofa and it was WAY better! I guess we got what we paid for there. Here are some pics of Zilla enjoying himself:
Picking and smelling the flowers

Playing in the leaves and pushing his train through the sand:

DZ and Zilla looking for his shoes under the bed (LOL - it was so funny cause he was copying DZ) and eating soap - yes he's odd - we know:
Photobucket Photobucket

I also just had to stop and get a picture of this bench that was outside the Army Lodging. It was SOOOO cute and very clever to do the American Flag on the front and then the Army seal on the sides - plus why not have an excuse to take another picture of my super duper cute son right?

Weekend from Hades Part II

Okay as promised I have more from my weekend in Alabama. I have to say that either the Realtors there REALLY suck or the profession in general is just declining. DaddyZilla and I went around and looked at TONS of houses but only ended up going into a few because of various reasons but the few we went into left a bad bad taste in our mouth - the houses and the one realtor.

The first house we thought we were going to love it but once we saw it's condition we asked the realtor (who should know this crap btw) if things could/would be done and she kept saying she "didn't know" - she didn't know if the deck would be replaced, or if the yard extended beyond the fence, or if they were planning to fix the carpet, laundry chute, sink or thermostat. We quickly marked off that house because we had no way of knowing if they would do anything unless we put a deposit on it! It wasn't even rentable to me and certainly not worth what they were charging - she didn't even walk through the house with us she just stayed in the livingroom!

The next house we saw was sadly with the same real estate place and that went even worse. There was IMO a possible electrical issue (the outlet was hanging out of the wall at an angle - you couldn't put it back) and there was "something" wired into a bedroom wall and bolted into the outlet and the lady didn't even know how to work the alarm. It was already off my list -because it had like zero dining room- but I went outside to look at the huge back yard when we noticed the broken window that had been TAPED with freakin packing tape! After pointing it out the lady totally didn't seem concerned and said nothing about it being fixed (probably wanted a deposit first) and when DZ asked her if there had been a break in she replied "well you can always call the local police department and check if they have any records of one" UM WTF We can call? Um no hunny that would be YOUR FREAKING JOB!!!!! She also told us that we would have to put a deposit on the house before she could even ask the owners if they would consider our dog - the ad said pets neg - we have to put a deposit on it before we even know if its possible to live there?!?! Anyone else find this insane? I just think this lady was pizzed because when she was trying to pressure us into buying a house we shut her down. Yeah - you people can't even manage to be good rental agents I'm surely gonna buy a house from you oh wait or not.

The weekend from Hades Part I

This past weekend we dropped the dog with friends and headed to Alabama for a little house hunting fun. Well I'm not too sure about the fun part but we certainly had an interesting weekend. We had 19 houses on our "drive by" list when we left so fast forward 7 hours and one time zone we started our hunt. We did a 1 to 10 scale on the houses and just marked off anything that rated 5 or less - well lets just say that the market in Southern Alabama isn't rocking cause we were marking off way more than we weren't! We did end up calling the realtors on a couple to look at the insides (more to come on that later) and we were sorely disappointed. Some of these houses didn't even look ready to rent, sorta like the previous people just packed up and left that day! The realtors there apparently do not comprehend that people who work during the week would be wanting to look for houses on the weekends because they ALL close at noon on Sat and wouldn't even consider do anything on Sunday. So after the few rough looking houses we saw Sat morning DaddyZilla and I were about ready to cry because the options (in our price range) were dwindling fast. We did find one house Sunday that looked promising so we saw it Monday morning and ended up putting a deposit down on it - not a lease just a deposit. That seems odd to me that they wouldn't want us to sign a lease just yet - like maybe they are going to yank it from us if someone else came along. Oh well - I don't have a picture of it because I think Zilla deleted it off my camera and the people took it off their website in less than an hour! Part II of our weekend from Hades will include the realtor issues we faced...soon enough!

The Cake Thief Strikes Again

The infamous cake thief has struck again - this time with birthday cake. Zilla apparently just can't help himself when it comes to cake. Sorry Sara!

B-Day party fun and new furniture

Thursday night we went to a friends to help celebrate her littlest one's 2nd birthday. She now has TWO 2 year olds!! Well at least for a couple weeks anyway. It was tons of fun and the kids managed to chow down the pizza, cake and ice cream like pros. Some of us liked the cake more than others but anyway it was lots of fun and SaraBear (as her parents call her) totally enjoyed herself and all her gifts. I can't believe she's already two seems like just yesterday that I attended her 1st birthday party!

After the Party we went to go look at some new bedroom furniture that I found on craigslist. The dressers we currently have are on their last legs and won't survive another couple moves. so I had been searching for something a little nicer but also something we could afford. I found a really nice set that included a dresser with mirror, chest of drawers, two night stands and the headboard/foot board.

I'll update with pictures when we get home from our little trip.

**Ok for some reason it saved this as a draft but I wrote and at least though I posted it this weekend. Oh well it was probably that rough interest at the lodging. Here are the pictures:

Fleao has spoken

HAHA Fleao is DaddyZilla's creation (you know kinda like the psychic Cleo lol) for when he makes predictions or wants to be a wisenhimer. Anyway Fleao has decided that it will snow here in Savannah, GA. LMAO I personally think that Fleao may have had a little something something in his coffee this morning but I guess we'll see. haha

Bug Eyed Gymbo Moms

Today I decided to join a friend of mine at the mall (to avoid doing the million things I need to do before moving) so we got dressed and met them up there. Zilla is extremely hot natured and gets warm very quickly which he did today at the mall in the long sleeved shirt i put on him. While in Gymboree (my weakness is super cute kiddo clothes) Zilla got all red because he was hot so I went in the back and looked for a short sleeved shirt to buy and put on him. I found a cute shirt for $3.99 total SCORE BUT it was a double sleeved long sleeve shirt so I took it to the register to buy it. Why you ask considering I was needing a short sleeved shirt? Because I intended -and did- to destroy it by cutting the sleeves off of this brand new Gymbo shirt. Let me tell you that I got some bug eyed looks from other mothers and the manager when I took the scissors to the long sleeves. Wasn't a biggie to me I do it all the time so that Zilla can wear them longer than one season. He looks super cute in his short sleeved polo shirt by the way and I couldn't have found a better deal at walmart HAHA.

The Tree is Up!

We put our Christmas Tree this past weekend and I have to say that it looks GREAT!! Last year after Christmas my Aunt and Mom found an awesome deal on a nice artificial tree so I got rid of what DZ called our "charlie brown" tree and got this one. It is soo much fuller and looks as close to real as a fake one can LOL. Anyway we got it all put up and it looks good. Zilla wasn't a huge fan of actually putting ornaments on but we managed to fake a few pictures haha.

Potatoes are for Eating?!?

Yeah I don't think that Zilla realized that Potato Buds are actually for eating (after being prepared of course) and not for playing in.
The other day he was playing in his room, or so I thought, but come to find out DZ found him in the hallway and insisted I come to look. This is what I found:
PhotobucketPhotobucket

The WHOLE box of Potato Buds was dumped on the floor and he was just having a good old time playing in them. I swear that kid has some issues staying away from the boxes in the kitchen cabinet!

Playdate, Gifts and Cookies...Oh my!!

Last week was pretty much Zilla and I's last 'real' playdate here in Georgia. It was our Gift & Cookie Exchange as well so that made it a super awesome playdate. Since the mutiny there are only a few of us left so there weren't as many cookies and gifts to be had as last year but it was fun all the same. We had Buckeyes, my stained glass cookies, cake cookies and some chocolate chocolate chip cookies in attendance and they were yummy - all the guys at DZ's work totally dug them, they were gone in a matter of an hour! Zilla totally got an awesome Thomas the Train Poncho Towel - he wasn't too keen on actually putting it on but he really liked looking at it and it makes noise!!! The kids all had a blast and us adults had a good time too - to bad it will be the last one since people are going out of town then the holidays and we will be moving after that. Oh well all good things must come to an end right?

I do want to say a BIG Thank You to those who were strong enough to last in the playgroup and also to those who left - it has been an excellent two years and I'm super glad that Zilla and I were able to know each of you and your children!

The Train Ride

I took Zilla on the train ride they put up in our mall every year and he LOVED it - duh! In the line he was super excited and couldn't wait to get on. Once we paid our money and got on he just kinda was looking around mesmerized and sat that way for a lap or two. After that he came out of his mini coma and started pointing at everything talking like crazy about everything he saw. He got off nicely (I totally expected a fight) but after he realized we were actually walking away from the train he went stiff and wouldn't get back in the stroller. Needless to say I have a feeling we won't be going into that mall without visiting the train again - he's a smart kid and knows his way around the malls.

We're back!

Hello I'm back - sorry I've been gone so long but well I just have been so stinkin stressed out about moving and the Holiday's in general that I wasn't feelin the blog. Sorry. Normally I handle stress well but it's been a rough couple of months with a few blows here and there that I just didn't expect and now moving on top of that is just too much. If you were to walk into my house right now you'd have no idea that in like 20 some odd days we will be living in another state! So needless to say it's a crazy time in the Zilla house!

Anyway I'm back, for now, I say for now because in a few weeks we will be moving and I'm sure I'll be without the Internet for a few days at least. I do promise though to at least try harder to get past my stress and keep you all updated. As soon as my camera battery charges (the boy likes to play with it hence causing the battery to die frequently) I will post some pics and get you all up to date.
