He's growing up SO fast!

This morning while I was washing up some dishes Zilla climbed into the kitchen chair (a battle we fight everyday) to play with my laptop. Well I walked over to get him down, which he was not happy about, so he grabbed one of the 4 binkies (that he doesn't use anymore - they are awaiting a new home). He likes to take one suck on it take another try it out and so on until he gets a taste of each one then he goes on about his way. Well I asked him to hand me the blue one and....he actually DID!!! I was impressed so I took a blue and a pink (hey don't give me crap they were out of blue and when you have no binkies you take what you can get!) in my hand and asked him to show me the blue. Well he wanted no part of me being in his face but I persisted cause thats just how I am. I pointed to the pink one and said "is this the blue?" and he looked at me then pointed to the blue and got a big smile on his face!!! Yeah he kinda knows his colors - at least one of them!!

Then while eating his oatmeal he did something else that impressed me. Normally when he's bringing the spoon to his mouth some (if not all) falls off the spoon. Well today when he was bringing it to his mouth he used his other hand to keep the oatmeal from falling!!! He also used one of his hands to keep his bowl from moving around when he was trying to scoop!!!

OMG he's growing up way too fast for me! It was just yesterday that he was not picking out colors and letting his oatmeal fall gracefully to the floor and today he's a full grown toddler!!!!!!

C25K Week 3

I started week 3 of the Couch 2 5K program today. Wow thats a lot of running! I can tell you with certainty that I couldn't have jogged for 3 minutes straight a week weeks ago. I would have probably fallen down and needed medical assistance. Today, however, not only did I jog for 3 minutes I did it twice!!! I didn't even feel like falling over when I was done - now thats exciting. I'm not gonna lie and say that I didn't want to scream WTF when the guy on the podcast said we were gonna run for 3 minutes cause I did but then I told myself that was just 3 commercials - no biggie! I did it and I'm excited to do it again on Wed. I'm gonna have to get up early and do that at home that day I'm going strawberry picking before playdate and I don't' have time to go to the gym on post.

If you've ever thought about running then this program is really great! I actually love it and look forward to it instead of dreading it like i thought I would!

Sleeping In ROCKS!!

I'm sure I've mentioned before that Zilla is an early riser - like EVERY day no matter if it's a weekend or he didn't go to bed until 10pm - he gets up early thats just how it rolls in this house.

WELL.....today he slept in til 7:30am!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

He did totally pee through the pull up (guess we are back to diapers at night) but I'm totally cool with extra laundry if I get to sleep in!!! Ok thats all just wanted to share!

YAY for nice people!!!

I frequent a few boards on BabyCenter and on one of the boards some ladies started a ISO Lovies thread where you could post your kids Lovie if you either lost theres (God Forbid) or just wanted a back-up. Well Zilla is VERY attached to a blue stuffed elephant that (of course) is no longer made. So I posted thinking that it would be nice to get a back-up for his back-up that we already have. He doesn't leave his crib without his "baby" in the morning and he has to sleep with it so it can't hurt to have extras people.

So anyway a wonderful lady named Jane e-mailed and she has one that her son is not attached to so she was gonna do a random act of kindness and mail it to me for free! Let me mention that these bad boys can (and do) go for $30-$50 on e-bay - jerks - so her just offering it is super duper cool. So I just wanted to say thank you again to Jane and all nice people like her.

C25K Week 2 Day 1

Okay today was Week 2 Day 1 on the Couch 2 5K program. I have to say that although I smell like a nasty sweaty guy I feel good! I really like this program and I'm looking forward to running on the treadmill like all the other cool people at the gym.

I do have to say I feel kinda stupid walking then running then walking - kinda like people are talking about how dumb I look. Now don't get me wrong I don't really think that people are actually looking at me or thinking I'm dumb. *However* the reason I think this way is because I'm one of those jerky people who look at others around me all the time and if they look dumb I notice. In fact if they look dumb and I'm with my friends I will probably comment on it. That being said I assume that there are others like me (not as good but similar) and that perpetuates the feelings that people are staring. Not that I'm gonna let that stop me cause I'm on a mission no matter how dumb I look.

Oh I mention to the hubby that I was thinking about doing the annual charity bridge run with some friends later this year. I told him he could cheer me on - I'd eve get him pompoms if he wanted. What do you think my wonderful husband said in response? Do you think he was supportive and told me how great that would be and how he thought I'd do great? HELL NO he told me he'd bring me a wheelchair! Thanks hunny I appreciate your support. He followed up (cause he knew I was gonna jump on this comment) that it was a very steep bridge - and he's right - but damn can't you at least pretend to think I'll do good? Dang I'm not even thinking I'll run the whole thing - it's a Run, Walk or Crawl type of deal anyway - so what he doesn't even think I could crawl up the bridge? Thats just wrong in my opinion. After all he's done that bridge run, granted his was mandatory via the Army, but still if he can do it so can I. Oh well I will prove him wrong!

I hate stupid people!

I've been posting some things on craigslist recently to get them out of my garage and normally this is a pleasant experience. This weekend must have been a full moon or something because the stupid people were running rampant! I had a lady interested in a toy box I was selling - she said she REALLY wanted it. Well thats great so she said she'd stop by Sat around lunchtime which worked for me cause I was gonna go out to Target after nap so it would be awesome timing. Or not cause she e-mailed around 1:30 to say she got a late start and would be there about 2-3pm - ok thats fine no biggie. Well she never showed - talk about annoyed but she e-mailed saying her kid threw up in her car and she had to go home - ok thats understandable I wouldn't ride around with puke in my car either. So she says she's gonna come Sun along with a lady to pick up a ride on train I have for sale to. GREAT getting rid of two things in the same day would be super good. Well it would have been if either of them bit*hes had showed up! I called the one and she said "oh I'll be there in about an hour" yeah ok well I STILL haven't heard back and that was about 20 hours ago! Then I e-mailed the other lady in the evening *nicely* asking if she was still interested and if so let me know. Well that f-ing B proceeds to get rude with me and says "well the days not over but no I'm not interested" WTF?!?!?!

OMFG people if your not interested can you just please use common courtesy and just say so instead of making people wait around when your never gonna show up! I didn't' get any of my errands done because of these stupid witches!

Food for Thought

Today I was watching Joel Osteen (Preacher at Lakewood Church in Texas) and his message today was very good. I always enjoy listening to him - he's not all hell and damnation and I like that. His messages are always positive and make you feel better when you leave.

What I really liked today was that he said: "Things don't happen TO you, they happen FOR you"

It's simple and yet profound. It just really says that when your going through things that you have to remember that everything happens for a reason even if you are in the dark about the reason. I've always tried to remember when I was having a bad time that God has a reason for the things that happen so this is just a lovely way of saying that. Like right now my hubby is deployed to Iraq and well it's certainly not easy with him gone and a toddler but I know that this life I've chosen is making me a better person, wife and mother. So anyway I just thought I would share that.

Where did my sweet baby go?

Today my sweet angel face of a child turned into a little demon! I don't' know where my sweetie pie went but I want him back dang it!!! Zilla was great this morning but I think he woke up from his nap on the wrong side of the crib or something. He woke up all whinny and was just being a little terror. We had to go to the post office to overnight something on my hubbys behalf and he was acting like a crazy child inside the post office! He was running all over, pulling down posters off the wall and even tried to get out the door! The place was packed so he loved having a captive audience to disobey me in front of. Anytime I asked or told him something he would just smile at me and do what he wanted anyway - yeah he thought it was so dang funny. I could have beat him senseless but all those witnesses wouldn't have been good.

After the post office I thought about taking him to a park with some friends but nixed that cause he was already getting on my nerves so we headed home. Thinking about it now I probably should have taken him to the park cause he didn't get any better once we got home. He was SO whinny and was just screaming and melting down for no reason. It was total fun - promise! I just love being supermom while hubbys gone. Some days (like today) I just can't help but count the hours and minutes until I have help even though I'm sure he probably thinks I have it easy. Total props to single moms (including my own) - 15 months is long enough I couldn't imagine 18 years!

C2 5k

Well today I finished up week 1 of my couch 2 5K program. I plan to start week 2 on Monday - I have to say that so far I'm enjoying it a lot more than I thought I would. I would never have ever thought I'd be running unless it was to save my life or something but this is pretty cool. I am not nearly as tired or sweaty as I was the first day so I'm excited to start week 2 next week. The podcasts I downloaded that tell me when to run and when to walk are awesome! I've even managed to get a few friends interested in the program so we'll see how that goes.

After MNO

After we left Barnes and Noble my friend and I decided that we wanted a milkshake so we drive over to Arby's. Well ordering was interesting cause I'm not really sure the lady on the other end of the squawk box was playing with a full deck but we eventually got our food. As we were pulling out my friends sister calls and says she wants something but this parking lot doesn't loop around so instead of going out and turning back in I decided to back up through the parking lot to order again. Well no sooner had I got turned around the right way and begun to order do we hear screaming and see a cop car race into the parking lot. The cops were chasing some guy and lets just say he did NOT want to be taken. I think there was a wall cause he stopped running but when they were telling him to get down he kept yelling "no" and had his arms folded. This was all in vein -duh - cause they eventually got him in cuffs and in the car. It was a fun scene at Arby's thats for sure!

When we got back to her house it was like 11pm and her sister was there. Can I just say that her sister is just too damn funny! We chatted for a long time and she had me cracking up! It also made me a little sad cause damn it made me feel old listening to her talk about drunken nights and stuff like that! Guess thats what marriage and kids will do to you though!

Moms Night Out

Last night my playgroup had a moms night out so considering it was a Wed night and our town isn't exactly rockin we went to Starbucks in the Mall! A friend's sister bravely watched 6 kids for the night while we went out - more about her later. So we got there and being without any kids what do we do.....We went to stinking gymboree! Why can't moms have a good time without thinking about or doing anything for their kids? Anyway while one of the ladies was spending WAY to much on clothes another friend and I went into this off the wall store that sells a little bit of everything looking for a b-day gift. As we were walking around the clerk was a little too helpful if you get my drift. He kept walking back over to us and complimenting us on things - it was a little odd but he was being nice and we found the gift so it worked out.

Once we got to starbucks and ordered we walked over to Barnes and Noble to sit down and talk. We found some comfy chairs that were in a little circle so the four of us could see each other. It was all going well until one of the ladies got up to go look at a book. Well all the sudden this old lady walks over and just sits down in her chair. Kinda weird considering we were obviously a group and talking. No biggie if she was just gonna sit down to look at her book and ignore us but that is NOT what this old biddy did! She was actively listening to what we were saying and not even trying to hide it!!!!! If I was talking she would look and me and so on - thank the Lord she didn't try to join in the conversation because I might had to have told her how rude she was being. It was very awkward but we didn't hold back or anything - she must have liked all the crazy stuff we were talking about! We also encountered several other eves droppers including a lesbian who was listening to us while checking out the latest copy of Maxium. Some of the other people who enjoyed our brand of entertainment were a couple, a guy who worked there and some other random guys.

It was a fun night at Barnes and Noble thats for sure. So thanks again ladies for coming and keeping me company!

Party Time

Yesterday we went to a friends little boys joint birthday party. He boys are turning 9 & 3 and it was an awesome transformer themed party. It started and 12pm but we got there a little early and Zilla was pretty good until almost 1pm considering that he normally naps about 11:30 everyday. Well right at about 1 he proceeded to erupt with toddler meltdown so I stuck him in one of the bedrooms hoping he would nap. I wasn't really optimistic that he would because her youngest is in a twin bed and Zilla is still attached to his crib but low and behold after some screaming he pretty much just fell over and went to sleep on the floor! It was cute when I peeked in to check on him.

Zilla missed pretty much all of the actual party and woke up right around cake time - smart kid! The games were hilarious though! We had about six kids playing and one of the games they had to do a race where they put sugar cubes on spoons and carry them from the main bowl to their decepticon or Autobots bowl. Don't worry that wasn't the funny part although kids ranging from 3 to 11 doing this was funny but the hilarious part was the "adults" who were helping "their" team by cheating! They were taking cubes when the kids were distracted and moving them into the other bowl. It was getting out of hand at one point because they started taking them from the big bowl until finally another "adult" at the party took both tainted bowls and dumped them back into the big bowl. I have no clue if any of that made sense but it was funny as crap to watch these grown men act worse than children!!! They were also spinning the bigger kids like crazy (like think picking them up and actually spinning them) before the pinata and the other game. The kids were so dizzy that they could barely stand let along hit the moving pinata - blind folded I might add! I think the so called adults had just as much if not more fun than all the kids!

After Zilla woke up and scarfed down some cake he pretty much just ran around everywhere for the rest of the day. All in all it was a great party and I'm glad we went - those boys are like family to us and we wouldn't have missed it for the world!

C25K Day two

Well today was Day 2 of Week 1 in my Couch to 5K program that I'm doing. I did my run/walk at the gym today instead of at home and I have to say I liked it much better. That's probably because their treadmills aren't older like mine and I can see the stuff on the many displays whereas mine has one little tiny display that rotates between 6 different things. I also didn't' have to guess at my speed or anything.

I felt really good after doing it and I didn't even sweat nearly as much as the first time. I'm liking this and I'm excited about continuing. I'm thinking I'm gonna do week 1 for two weeks just to make sure I'm ready before I start week 2 cause I've heard that it is a little hard if your not ready. I never thought I would say this but I'm enjoying running and looking forward to getting better. So anyway GO ME!!!!!!!!!!!

The Zoo

Yesterday we traveled down to the Jacksonville Zoo with our playgroup to have a fun day at the Zoo since we don't have one in our town. Well Zilla slept like 30 whole minutes on the way down there and that was pretty much that in the way of naps for the day! Over all we had a great day despite the fact that the Zoo was hosting about a million kids that day for a field trip! It wasn't too hot cause it was overcast so we didn't die of heat like last year. The kids had a great time looking at all the animals and running around. Zilla liked the running around more than the animals but oh well he was rather well behaved so thats whats important.

After the Zoo we traveled to Babies R Us (I know you can take the moms to another town but you can't take the mom out of us!) mainly because we don't have one in our town either. Noticing a pattern here? Thats right our town SUCKS!! Anyway I wanted to check out a car seat that I plan on buying for Zilla since he's out growing his current seat by height. So we walked around and had a good time looking at all the cool stuff we don't get to normally see. I saw a cute crib set with helicopters on it and I have to say IF it had Chinooks on it I would have bought it but it didn't - they NEVER have the cool helicopters on stuff!!! Then we ate, by we I mean my friend and I cause the kids decided to not eat the food we got for them - turds. We got home just in time for a little snuggle and bedtime!

Feeling Goodish

Well I thought for sure that I would be sore after my first day doing the C25K but I wasn't. So I got up and went to the gym as I normally do but I think I may have over extended my shoulder or something cause it's kinda feeling blah today. Gosh I'm getting old - I need a new body!

My throat was not feeling near as great as I was today. It had been hurting since Sat evening and today when I woke up it felt like it was only the size of a dime when I tried to swallow. So finally this evening I made myself go to urgent care 'just in case' it was strep cause I certainly wouldn't want to give anything to Zilla. The doctor was super nice and was trying to talk to Zilla but he wouldn't have any of it and gave the doc the evil eye the whole time. I mean geez the guy even tried to blow up a rubber glove for him but got no love..lol. Anyway, apparently I have just a sore throat - wow sure am glad that I went in for that! I knew that would happen though I told myself that if I went it would be nothing and if I didn't then I would pass strep to everyone I knew. Thats just the way my luck works I guess. Oh well better to have nothing than something right? I am annoyed though cause he have me 2 rx's, one for 800mg motrin (yeah I can always use that with my old body and all) and then another one I didn't know what it was for. So after I picked them up from Walgreens (took an HOUR to fill - wasn't even 50 pills but it took an hour) I looked at the other one online and gee what did I just have filled and paid for? A prescription for coughing oh whats the biggie you ask? Well I told the I WASN"T coughing as in I had no cough so WTH was this medicine for? Waste of my money but I'll keep it around the house for the next time I get sick cause you know old people get sick a lot!

Holy Schnickies Batman!

So today I did Week 1 Day 1 of a program called Couch 2 5k. Wow ok I know I'm out of shape but just wow. Holy moly did that kick my butt. I'm sitting here sweating like man! My back was hurting this morning so I probably should have waited just 1 more day before I started this but then I thought it would turn into 1 "more" day so I decided today was the day no matter what. Well I was WRONG - I should have waited my back is KILLING ME!!!! But I made it through so I'm totally happy about that.

For those who don't know Couch to 5k is a program designed to teach non runners (couch potatoes) to run a 5k in about 9 weeks or so. You can repeat weeks if you need to - which I will - but pretty much this gets you off the couch and into shape. I'm very excited about it!! Ok now I'm going to take my excitement and go stretch then lay down on a heating pad k?

Stupid 10% my butt!

Ok some friends and I were going to do a yard sale today. Well I got over there and we start setting up and it looks like it's gonna be a money making kind of day. Well except for the crazy lady stalking my friends house at 6:30am waiting for us to set up for our 8am yard sale - some people are crackheads! Anyway we were getting some decent cusotmers and then wow the sky began to look rough but it said it was only a 10% chance of rain so we ignore it. Well HAHA 10% my rearend it began to drizzle but thats no biggie until it starts to really rain and look horrible in the skies. So we are packing up to come home when this car pulls up and it had an older couple in it. Well at least one of them could see cause he was driving the car but they asked the dumbest question "um wheres the yard sale" - hello can you not see we are packing up?! - so I told her we're packing up cause the rain and she actually looked at me in shock like she couldn't beleive that we didn't want to let our stuff get ruined so that she could spend her probably 50cents there. She might not have even spent that considering the amount of kid stuff we had!

I did sell hubbys Xbox that had been gathering dust in our house forever so that was nice. I raked in like $74 (including said xbox and games) so I didn't do to bad for a couple hours even though now I have to put all that crap back in my garage. grrrrr

TGIF - well sorta

Thank Goodness it's Friday people! Today was a good day - Zilla actually slept in until 7am and then we got ready to get out of the house. I went to the gym today and Zilla was in the daycare area. I did a nice 45 min on the elliptical and then some arms and abs and felt great. When I picked up zilla I foudn that he drew me 2 wonderful pictures which he later ripped off the fridge and peed on one of them but oh well they were beautiful!! I guess I'll mail daddy the non-pee picture and when the other one drys if it doesn't stink I'll hang back up.

Tonight I babysat for my friend while she went to her older kids soccar game. She has 5 kids - wow is all I can say - I don't know how she does it because Zilla drives me batty and he's just one kid. So I totally give her props for handling it all while her hubby is deployed and not going insane and killing all the children. So anyway back to my story...I was watching the 3 little ones for her tonight. They were actually all really well behaved except Zilla was being a little bit anti-social until Dora came on - the universal kid magnet - then they all watched together QUIETLY!!! I did have one really funny moment though - I had to put the oldest in time out cause she pushed her little sister. So she was laying on my kitchen floor crying until all the sudden it wasn't tears I heard but instead I heard her making out with my tile floor! I swear she was totally kissing it and I just had to laugh it was so funny. Kids do the funniest stuff!

Tomorrow is the yard sale so after the kiddos went home and I put Zilla into bed I had to go and load up my car (cause we are having it at a friends house) and yeah that wasn't fun. Dude I have WAY too much stuff. People need to buy it tomorrow cuase I'm tired of lugging it around and having it in my house. I'm thinking loading all that stuff plus the gym = 1 sore back!

Funny T-Shirts

Last night I was looking at Army Wife t-shirts on CafePress (you should check them out they have some funny crap) and found a few that I'll chare with you - I know your excited!!

I thought this one totally expressed the Army Way of life: "Hurry up & Wait - A military wifes way of life" Then I really liked: I'm a b*tch becuase my husband is deployed...whats your excuse?" and "Advice from an Army Wife: 1.Buy Big girl panties 2. Put them on so you can deal with a lot of @#*$" I also think I'm gonna get Zilla the one that says " Army: I'm here to pick up my Daddy" for homecoming day!!! They also had several that were a little on the sexual side like: "Army wife: PT starts with ME!" and "sexually deprived for your freedom" plus several others that I just thought were just WRONG to wear around kids! Come on people no need to advirtise what your gonna do when they get home - I'm sure we can all guess ok?

There were also some really cute ones relating to excersize and what not - they have a crap load of designs - I didn't even make it through half of any of the sections I looked in - just too much to look at.

My horrible night lives on

Last night was a normal night except that my super tired toddler stayed up forever yelling and just trying to keep himself awake. No biggie eventually he fell asleep so I laid down a little before 11pm looking forward to my measly 7 hours of sleep. HAHA cause that didn't last long! About 11:15 - 11:30 my darling sweet angel of a son proceeded to start on toddler screaming 101. He continued this experiment in hell for a while when I decided to go in, comfort him and turn his music back on, obviously trying to get him back to sleep. HAHA again cause he had ZERO intentions of going back to sleep anytime soon. He was flipping up crying and carrying on until friggin 2am!!!!!!!!!!! Now I'm all about letting him cry it out but it's not like I can totally ignore him. No real mom can listen to the sweet thing she sprung from her uterus crying and actually get sleep - not gonna happen so we were both up and I can safely say that neither of us was happy. We finally got to sleep after much praying on my part that we could just get some rest.

Well I guess I should have been a little more specific in those rest prayers because my darling offspring woke up for the day at 6:20am. I guess toddlers must not need nearly as much sleep as an overstressed mommy. Oh well not much I can do about it so look out day here I come - with coffee in hand DUH.

UPDATE: The rest of the day was okay - we had playgroup at the mall and wyatt was a terror because he was tired - gee I wonder why! Overall the day wasn't too bad after nap time anyway!

A New Day

Ok yesterday was a total bust for my poor sweet little man. He felt horrible all day long and really only wanted to snuggle with Mommy. He pretty much didn't want anything to eat anything either, I think all he had all day was a banana and 1 fig newton, the yogurt and milk got thrown up - yuck. I attempted to give him a bath to help keep his tiny fever (it never went above 99.6) at bay and you would have thought I was trying to kill the boy. I got him to get on his knees in the tub and when I tried to rub him down with a cool washcloth he began to scream like he was bathing in battery acid or something! I did manage to wipe his body off then I had to take him out as he was clutching me screaming his poor little head off. So then I gave him a grape Popsicle and he really liked it and asked for more so I got out an orange one - yeah not so much a fan of the orange. He took a couple pieces and then said "um no" when I offered more. Oh well I guess we can't all like all the flavors. Oh and don't worry everyone these were sugar free Popsicles so no I wasn't feeding my possibly sick kid sugar - even though I think this was related to an upset tummy and teething. After that bedtime it was and he went down without a fight.

Zilla seems to be back to himself this morning. Well aside from the whole "I'm getting up at 4am and there is nothing you can do about it except listen to me scream" part. I went in at 4 and rocked him for a little bit in an effort to put him back to sleep at 4:30. Well that lasted until I got back to my bed so he screamed until I couldn't take it anymore at 5:40am. For all who don't know, I'm not only NOT a puke person but I'm certainly not a morning person - in fact I would say that I'm not even really a person before 6am. So my rule is that unless wyatt is sick or really just totally upset and needing his mommy he stays in his bed until 6 no matter really what time he wakes up. Sorry I know that may sound cruel to some but well I'm not a good mommy before 6 so I'm really doing it for wyatt not me - really. Well today was an exception because he wasn't feeling well yesterday so we came out before 6am - blah. He then proceeding to ask for GO (diego for those that don't know about his obsession) and run around. So I guess he's good now.

Stupid Teeth!

My Poor Baby

Ugh this morning Zilla wasn't really wanting anything to eat so I managed to get about 5 bites of yogurt into him. Well then it was Dora and Diego time so I laid on the couch and he laid with me and almost fell asleep!!! Thats so not like him but I'm thinking maybe he was just tired so I got him up and went to go lay him down. We made it into his room when he proceeded to throw up on me. Well just a little 411 I'm NOT a throw up person - blah the thought, sight, sound or smell of it makes me want to hurl. This is the first time he's ever thrown up so the poor little guy just had this look of WTH is going on. I felt so bad for him and this is probably the only thing that kept me from gaging. So we got all cleaned up and I took his temp -99.7- not too bad so I laid him on the couch to watch Wonder Pets while I cleaned the floor up. He actually fell asleep laying there - SO totally not like him.

He woke up about 40 minutes later and I managed to get some water and about 1/2 a banana in him - he didn't want the toast I offered. I guess he doesn't realize that mommy knows what shes talking about and the toast would make him feel better than the banana, then again this isn't the first time he'll not go with my advice so I better get used to it. He laid on me a while longer and is now napping in his crib. He isn't really acting sick so I don't know if this is because of the THREE stupid eye teeth slowly creeping into his little mouth or what. I'm gonna keep an eye on him to see how he's doing later.
