For The Love of Veggies

Zilla has developed a new found love of all things Veggie Tales!! I've tried introducing him to the lovely land of Bob and Larry but he never really took to it so I gave up. Just goes to show me that kids only get interested in stuff when you give up on the idea! Anyway he now LOVES him some talking veggies - only the talking kind though he's still not into the edible ones. LOL He calls it "Big Idea" - thats the company that produces the shows - and now sings the songs constantly! His favorite is the opening song but he does still enjoy the hairbrush song, the busy song and the where is my stapler song. I don't really mind watching these over and over though because they are sending out good messages that are hopefully seeping into his brain and taking root - I gotta home right? He cracks me up singing all of these. I need to get him on video belting out the tunes - when I get it I'll be sure to post so that you can all enjoy it as well.

Being Sick Sucks

My poor angel recently was faced with a nice case of Croup. He woke up about 3am and just couldn't seem to catch his breath and was crying up a storm. After I got him calmed down slightly I could tell that he wasn't breathing right so I decided that it was time to visit our local ER. We actually go into the back fairly quickly and they diagnosed him with Croup. In case your little one's haven't had it (lucky you) or you just don't know what it is: Croup is a condition that causes an inflammation of the upper airways — the voice box (larynx) and windpipe (trachea). It often leads to a barking cough or hoarseness, especially when a child cries. It's caused by a virus and normally starts out with normal cold symptoms and reaches it's peak at night.

Anyway Zilla received a breathing treatment (that was seriously lots of fun = typed with as much sarcasm as I can muster) and a steroid shot to help open up his airways. He got to take some lovely meds and we got to use the humidifier which seemed to help at night. I felt so bad for him cause he just was so miserable. I have to say that even though I knew in my head that he wasn't really in any danger seeing your child gasping for breath is something that literally makes your heart hurt and scares you half to death - not pretty. Anyway he's all better now thank goodness.

Sunday Reads

Here are a few new Reads for you all to enjoy!

Two Stepping Bella is a reporter sent to interview Jasper, a champion horse trainer. She meets Edward who is a horse breeder and a British Duke. Sparks fly. I really enjoyed this story! I just loved this version of Edward cause I mean who can resist a hot British accent? Add in royalty and an unyielding love and you get this great story of love and mistakes that need to be overcome.

Long, Tall, Texan Bella is going to grad school in Texas and her friends decide to join her. Little do they know that she has an agenda of her own. This is a Bella/Jasper Story and although I'm normally more of a canon couple reader I truly liked the way this story was written. Bella meets Jasper and there are instant sparks. The couple must overcome Jasper's twisted past only to find themselves in a crazy situation where they have to fight to save themselves. It's chalk full of twists and turns.

His Personal Assistant Bella Swan, personal assistant to handsome, rich, successful Edward Cullen, decides to take her friends advice and make her oblivious boss fall in love with her. This story just cracked me up with all of the craziness that Bella does to get Edward to see the very clear signals she's sending. Edward is busy trying to keep himself away from Bella. This story just goes to show you that love could be right under your nose without ever knowing it. There is LOTS of interference of the good and bad variety that they have to overcome. I love Emmett and Jasper in this story - they are so willing to throw their brother under the bus simply for their own entertainment. Totally worth a read.

Six Word Saturday

The Back of My Knee HURTS!!!

I never really knew before today that the back of your knee can hurt. I walked in the March Of Dimes Walk this morning with my Aunt's Publix Team. It was pretty awesome and I really did have a good time but well apparently I need to get my big booty in better shape because I'm sore especially the back of only one of my knees. Oh well it's worth it to help raise money and awareness for this very worthy cause! We walked so that those babies can crawl!!
